SUSTAINABLE SLEEPWEAR • Eco-friendly pajamas made from organic cotton and Tencel
Anyone who is concerned with the topic of sustainability will probably sooner or later also think about environmentally friendly sleepwear. This makes sense, because sustainable nightwear is often not expensive and furthermore materials and fit influence our sleep. Therefore, nightwear should have a suitable fit for unhindered freedom of movement and yet not be too loose. The arms and legs should be able to stretch completely unhindered in all directions. Just as important as the fit of the pajamas is the material they are made of. Polyester, for example, has the drawbacks of low breathability and is potentially irritating to the skin.
A model made of cotton or Tencel on the other hand, absorbs sweat very well. Cotton and Tencel are also very light and breathable.
THE MATERIALS
Organic Cotton
compared to conventional cotton, organic cotton has a lower water consumption. Organic plants use less water than their genetically modified counterparts. The environment is protected and can also store more water. Overall, organic cotton uses 91% less groundwater.
no toxic chemicals and pesticides are used in organic farming. This protects workers, the environment and your skin.
Fair payment for farmers. They receive a fair price for their work and their product and have planning security. No child labour! The minimum price guaranteed by Fairtrade also allows the cotton farmers to send their children to school.
TENCEL™
Tencel is a skin-friendly and breathable material that gives the garment soft wear properties and special shape retention. The very smooth, silky fibre surface provides a cool touch. Tencel products are therefore ideal for the summer. Tencel is made of eucalyptus wood from sustainable forestry and is biodegradable. The Tencel Lyocell fibres are produced using an innovative recycling process. This reduces the use of raw materials and energy to a minimum. This leads to a particularly environmentally friendly and resource-saving production.
